Certificate in Community Service

The Certificate in Community Service equips participants with knowledge, skills, and practical tools to serve as advocates and activists in their communities. Grounded in principles of justice, compassion, and collaborative leadership, the program introduces the foundational strategies of community organizing, including power analysis, relationship building, coalition development, public storytelling, strategic campaign planning, and grassroots mobilization. Through a combination of theological reflection, historical case studies, and real-world application, participants learn how to identify community needs, build partnerships across diverse groups, and organize collective action that advances equity and lasting social change. Designed for clergy, nonprofit leaders, community volunteers, and emerging advocates, this certificate prepares graduates to marry faith and meaningful public service.
